Important Certification Updates: Early CDFI Reapplication Deadline and Certification Webinar Rescheduled

Early Reapplication Deadline

As a reminder, the CDFI Fund has opened 700 slots for currently Certified CDFIs interested in submitting an early recertification application before the December 20, 2024, deadline. If a CDFI expresses interest in being certified under the new policies early, it is not obligated to submit early; but by taking advantage of this opportunity will gain an early determination on the submitted application.

Each Certified CDFI intending to apply early must submit a Service Request (using “Certification” for the program) through the CDFI Fund’s Awards Management Information System (AMIS), no later than 11:59 pm ET on February 1, 2024. Early reapplications should be submitted between May 31, 2024, and July 31, 2024, with determinations expected to be made by October 31, 2024.

Certified CDFIs that reapply by the early reapplication submission deadline but are unsuccessful in retaining the CDFI Certification based on their early Application submissions will not be automatically terminated and will retain their CDFI Certification status through the end of the submission grace period of December 20, 2024. However, if unsuccessful in early submission, the CDFI must follow the general reapplication submission process to remain Certified beyond that date, as specified above.
