New "Year in Review" Publication Released at Advisory Board Meeting

Dear Friends,

Today, the CDFI Fund's Community Development Advisory Board convened for its annual meeting to reflect upon the CDFI Fund's recent accomplishments and strategic priorities for the remainder of the year. This was the first meeting of the Advisory Board since President Obama appointed six new private sector representatives in 2012.

The Community Development Advisory Board serves to advise the Director of the CDFI Fund on the organization's policies and strategic priorities. It was an honor to have the opportunity to spend a day with community development industry experts and federal agency executives who specialize in economic development. The experience and wisdom that all of our Advisory Board members bring to the table allowed us to have a frank, in-depth conversation about both the current activities of the CDFI Fund, as well as our future direction.

As part of our discussion, I provided the Advisory Board members with our first-ever Year in Review publication to illustrate the CDFI Fund's recent work. I am pleased to be able to share that publication with the CDFI industry today as a testimonial to the dedication of the CDFI Fund to finding the best solutions for community development organizations. In the past, the Advisory Board has served a key role in formulating the CDFI Fund's response to the economic crisis, including proposing initiatives that provided capital infusion for CDFIs. I look forward to continuing to work with the Advisory Board on matters strategically important to the development of the CDFI industry and the CDFI Fund's programs.
