The CDFI Fund announced the FY 2021 CDFI Program and NACA Program Financial Assistance awards on December 8, 2021. Did you know that nearly 60% of all the awards will go to serve small and rural communities?
There was also a diverse array of financial institution types that received awards through the FY 2021 CDFI Program and NACA Program funding round. Unregulated CDFIs such as loan funds made up 54% of the awardee pool, credit unions were 35%, banks and bank holding companies were 11%, and the remainder of the awards were granted to Sponsoring Entities that will create CDFIs to serve Native Communities:
