The purpose of the CDFI Fund’s Preserving and Expanding CDFI Minority Depository Institutions series is to address the unique challenges facing Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) Minority Depository Institutions (MDIs). Provided by Deloitte Financial Advisory Services LLP, the program provides advanced training and technical assistance for CDFI MDIs to build their capacity to provide community development services to their target markets. Training topics focused around Improving Financial Performance and Achieving Mission-Aligned Growth through modules such as addressing asset quality, optimizing the institution’s portfolio, improving revenue strategies, accessing capital market solutions, telling the bank’s story, enhancing operational performance, and developing a strategic plan.

Even though the training series was designed for CDFI MDIs, this virtual resource bank is full of valuable information for any CDFI (banks, credit unions, loan funds, etc.), CDFI-like entity, or community bank that is facing similar challenges in accessing capital and is looking for tips, strategies, and resources to help improve their financial performance or achieve growth.
